a $500.00 fine as well as filing and maintaining proof of insurance (SR22)
for 3 years, which will make your insurance premium higher. Please note
that SR22 is not insurance and car insurance must be purchased.
After a conviction for driving without insurance you will not be eligible
to pay the uninsured motorist fee. You will need to maintain car insurance
without a secondary option. These stipulations are detailed under Code
of Virginia § 46.2-705, § 46.2-706, and § 46.2-707. You
